Stuart Gray Nelson was born on November 12, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri to Allan Franklin Nelson and Betty Agnes (Graham) Nelson.
He passed away on December 28, 2025 at his home in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of his passing, he was sixty-six years, one month, and sixteen days of age.
Stuart grew up in Overland Park, Kansas till he was 11 and then he and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Nathan Hale High in 1978.
In 1982, Stuart met the love of his life, Jean Drake, while bowling. They would get married about a year later on April 9, 1983, at Community Christian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
They brought two wonderful children into this world, Christopher and Seanna. He and his family lived in several places including Oklahoma, Texas, Springfield, Missouri, Clever, Missouri, Wichita, Kansas, Ozark, Missouri, and Marshfield, Missouri, going where he was needed.

He was always a hard worker and did what he needed to take care of his family. Stuart and his family attended church at Walnut Street Christian Church for a time when they lived in Springfield and Clever.
The last few years he and his wife have been going to Hillside Christian Church in Marshfield, Missouri, with their son, Christopher and family. Stuart loved his family and could not get enough of his grandkids.
He was so proud to be a "Papa". In the last year he was able to babysit his grandkids with his wife, Jean, which brought him great joy. He loved taking them to the park or outside to play.
You could always find his granddaughter, Journey, curled up on his lap. He was very happy to be able to spend time with his newest grandson, Elijah. When he was younger, Stuart enjoyed bowling and even played on a local league.
It was very important to him to do his part for the community by giving blood whenever he could. He even received accreditation for how much he had donated over the years. You could always find him mowing the yard or working on the house.
As he got older, his interests turned to watching his favorite TV show, NCIS, and listening to music, whether it was country or some classic rock. He enjoyed watching and rooting for his favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys, the KC Chiefs, and K-State.
Stuart also had quite the collection of eagles. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane Meredith.
