Sue Mitchell's Obituary
Carolin Sue Mitchell, daughter of Earnest and Letha (Fowler) Hensley, was born June 6, 1944 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She departed this life Sunday, April 12, 2009, in St. John’s Regional Health Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, ten months and six days.
On January 4, 1964 in Independence, Missouri, she was united in marriage to G.L. Mitchell, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children; one brother; and two sisters.
Sue is survived by two daughters, Michelle Shortt, of Ava, Missouri, and Cissy Banning, and her husband, Jimmy, of Springfield, Missouri; two granddaughters, Tara Reedy, and her husband, Matt, and Courtney Allen, and her fiancé, Chad Collins, all of Ava, Missouri; two grandsons, Mitchell Banning, and Jackson Banning; one great-granddaughter, Lauren; a sister, Ann Hurst, of Independence, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas and after she and Garrell were married, they made their home in Mansfield, Missouri in 1968, where she was a loving and devoted homemaker and mother.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, carpentry, and interior decorating. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt and was a caring friend to all who knew her. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
Graveside services will be at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in Mansfield Cemetery, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, of Mansfield.
