Suzy Palmer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Suzanne A Palmer, daughter of Thomas P. and Edith Ross Anderson, was born October 19, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Colonial Springs Health Care in Buffalo, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years.
On February 12, 1945, she married Richard L. Palmer. They were blessed with a daughter and two sons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; a daughter, Anne Ross Palmer; and a son, Thomas Richard Palmer.
Suzy is survived by her son, Arthur L. Palmer, and his wife, Deborah, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri; four grandchildren, Todd Palmer, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, Nathan Palmer, and his wife, Jessie, of Riverview, Florida, Alex Palmer, and Katy Wansing, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Elizabeth Palmer, and Nate Forst, of Portland, Oregon; two great-granddaughters, Sierra Palmer of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, and Abigail Palmer, of Jefferson City, Missouri: two sisters, Martha Branham, and her husband, Don, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Dorothy Sweaney, and her husband, Jerry, of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Thomas Anderson, and his wife, Ann, of Nixa, Missouri; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was born in Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1943. She attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri and later worked in Washington D.C. for one year during World War II. She made her profession in Christ and was a member of the First Christian Church of Lebanon. She was a devoted homemaker. She and her husband, Dick, owned and operated Palmer Furniture Store in Lebanon for many years, retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed reading, including her Bible every day; traveling with Dick in their fifth wheel trailer to Texas for many winters and to the West while making many new friends along the way; outings with family or friends; playing bridge and dominoes; nature, birdwatching and cookouts on the Niangua River.
Suzy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, companion, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-nine years.
