Sylvia Brooner's Obituary
Sylvia Chlorene Brooner, daughter of Simon Peter and Minnie Elsie Crabtree Decker, was born June 3, 1925, near Stoutland, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Christian Healthcare North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, one month, and two days. On May 31, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Brooner, and this union was blessed with one daughter and one son. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward, on March 17, 1996; two brothers, Ralph and Raymond Decker; and three sisters, Eva Knapp, Iona Decker, and Gean West. Sylvia is survived by a son, Robert “Bobby” Brooner, and his wife, Annette, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Betty Pederson, and her special friend, Royce Crisp, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jamie Klemin, Janell Kincheloe, Amanda, Steven, and Rebecca Brooner; three great-grandchildren, Reese and Keagan Klemin, and Hayden Kincheloe; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Stoutland community. After she and Edward were married, they made their home near Sleeper, Missouri, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, she did babysitting and she and Edward were also foster parents to a number of children throughout the years. Later, she and Edward made their home in Lebanon. Sylvia accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and attended services regularly for as long as her health allowed. She and Edward both enjoyed playing the guitar and singing gospel songs together and Sylvia also liked to play the piano. In her spare time she enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and working in her flower beds. Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she made for family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening 7-8:30pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri.
