She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After she and Alvin were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Sylvia had also worked as a housekeeper for a time. Later, she and Alvin purchased a farm near Lebanon, which she operated for several years. She had chickens and milk goats and supplied milk and eggs to her friends and neighbors. She eventually moved back into Lebanon and made her home during her retirement years.
She always put her family first in her life and enjoyed preparing country cooked meals each day. She loved her animals and especially her dogs. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting dolls.
Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
