Sylvia Wilson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Sylvia Wilson, age 88, of Halfway, Missouri departed this life on Saturday morning, July 20, 2013 at her home in Halfway.
She was born on March 20, 1925 in Osage County, Oklahoma the daughter of Oney and Macy (Coursey) Fulk.
Sylvia worked for a short time as a switchboard operator. On January 14, 1943 Sylvia was united in marriage to James E. “Jim” Wilson. To this union were born seven children. Her new career was a housewife, and she thrived at that position.
She was a member of the Providence Church and was saved there.
Sylvia enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. Each year she would grow the big gardens and passed down the green thumb to most of her children. She also enjoyed fishing, and watching the different birds migrate through the farm. The local wildlife knew where to go to get a free meal.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Oney and Macy, her husband; Jim, her Sister; Helen Shannahan, her brother; Cecil, her son; Charlie, her son-in-law: Gene Mincks, and her grandson; Josh “Big Josh” Willoughby.
She is survived by her four sons; Dale Wilson and wife Pat of Halfway, David Wilson and wife Dorothy of Halfway, Kenny Wilson and wife Carla of Halfway, Darrell Wilson and wife Carolyn of Halfway, two daughters; Elizabeth Myrick and husband Stephen of Halfway, Stacey Willoughby and husband Tom of Lee Summit, daughter-in-law; Lenna Wilson of Buffalo, MO; Sister; Thelma Graves of Rhondo, 20 grandkids, 28 great-grandkids, and 4 great-great-grandkids.
