Tammula Emerick's Obituary
Tammula Lynn Emerick, daughter of James Junior and Nancy Jeanne (Hetherington) Shover was born March 9, 1960 in Yerington, Nevada. She departed this life Saturday, December 12, 2009 near Mansfield in Wright County, Missouri at the age of forty-nine years, nine months, and three days.
On July 1, 1995, Tammy was united in marriage to Lawrence Franklin Emerick, and together they have spent fourteen wonderful years. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Albert and Helen Hetherington; her paternal grandparents, James and Bernice Shover; and a step-daughter, Lisa Lee.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Lawrence of the home; her mother, Nancy Palmer, of Fair Grove, Missouri; her father, James Shover, of Enumclaw, Washington; her children and their families, April Shover, of Springfield, Missouri, Jacki Shover and children, Colby and Seth, of Springfield, Missouri, Trista Lucas and her husband Kevin and children, Kevin, Kayleena, and Alissa, of Fordland, Missouri, Grady Bennett and his wife, Brittany and children, Weston and Emma, and Brady Bennett and his wife Kelly, all of Seymour, Missouri; her step-children and their families, Terry Emerick and his wife, Trish and children, Trenton and TomTom, Larry Emerick and his children, Kourtney, Kelsey, and Kailey, Ricky Emerick and children, Dakota and Alexis, Michael Emerick and children, Austin and Alison, and Tammy Blackburn and her husband, Ron and children, Tonya, Jordan, and Stephanie; two brothers, Steve Shover and his wife, Doris and son, Cody, of Diggins, Missouri and Luke Shover of Enumclaw, Washington; four sisters and their families, Stephanie Bailey and husband, Dale, of Seymour, Missouri and children, Amy, Dayna, and Eric and their families, Kathy Pierson and her husband David, of Seymour, Missouri and children, Kesha, Kreg, Jammi, and their families, Amanda Walker of Anson, Texas and son Colten and Emma Shover of Enumclaw, Washington a foster brother, Anthony Cole, of Fair Grove, Missouri; ten step-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; her Amazon Parrot, Polly; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born in Nevada and moved to Seymour, Missouri in July of l967, where she graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1978. She was manager of Casey’s General Store in Seymour for several years and was employed at Copeland Industries in Ava, Missouri at the time of her death.
Tammy loved riding horses and working in wood crafts. She was famous for her homemade french fries and chicken and dumplings, and for always having her door and heart open to everyone. She especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with them, Lawrence, and her children.
She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, step-mother, step-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the precious memories she has created for her family and friends.
Services were held Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in the Seymour Nazarene Church with Reverend Chris Simmons officiating. Burial was in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at www.holmanhoweseymour.com
