Teddy Austin Brown's Obituary
Teddy Austin Brown, son of James Clabe and Ruby Naomi Day Brown, was born August 6, 1944 in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, November 24, 2007 in the J.A. Dosher Memorial Hospital, Southport, North Carolina, at the age of sixty-three days, three months, and eighteen days. Teddy was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Jean Tolen. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; two daughters, Teri Goins, of New Bloomfield, Missouri, and Stephanie Jordon, and her husband, Jimmy, of Millington, Tennessee; one son, Austin Brown, and his wife, Phaedra, of Mumford, Tennessee; one grandchild, Storm Goins, of New Bloomfield, Missouri; two sisters, Karen Heafley, and her husband, Larry, and Helen Bennett, and her husband, Omer, all of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of relatives and friends. Teddy was born and raised in Lebanon but later lived in the Kansas City area for a few years. He then entered the U.S. Army where he served his country faithfully in Vietnam. After he returned from service, he lived in Memphis, Tennessee for a few years and was employed by the Chicago Bridge and Steel Company. He later moved to the State of Maryland where he met Mary. Teddy and Mary were married in Lebanon, Missouri on July 21, 2001. While in Maryland, he and Mary owned and operated the T & M Transport Company. They later moved to North Carolina to care for Mary’s father. Teddy followed the Free Will Baptist faith and while in Lebanon attended the North Five Free Will Baptist Church. He loved sports and especially enjoyed playing golf and baseball. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and watching NASCAR races. He always enjoyed spending time with his family. Teddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in McBride Cemetery.
