Teresa "T" Allen's Obituary
Teresa Marie Allen, daughter of William C. and Pearlie Faye Hill Poje, was born July 4, 1964, in Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life Wednesday, December 31, 2014, surrounded by her family, in the University of Missouri Medical Center, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of fifty years, five months, and twenty-seven days.
On April 23, 1988, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Allen and they shared the last twenty-six years.
Her parents preceded her in death.
“T”, as she was affectionately called, is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; two sisters, Mary Delmain, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Gina Hunt, and her husband, Rick, of Ekron, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Jeff Allen, and his wife, Rhonda, of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Stricklen, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Christy Morales, and her husband, Mac, of Corpus Christi, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Sandra McNall, Matt Hunt, Kimberly Finley, Emily Bruner, Gabe Allen, Jessica Houseworth, Michael Fox, Lt. John Fox, Ashley Fox, and Lindsey Fox; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Aliah Smith, Adrienne Hunt, Alyssa Delong, Jeremy Hunt, Aaron Hunt, Caden Churchill, Joseph “J.J.” Bruner, Ivy Hunt, Lillian Houseworth, and Dominic Houseworth; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and received her education there. After she and Bob were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and both of them worked for the H. D. Lee Company for a few years. They together drove over-the-road for the next twelve years.
“T” committed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and had a strong faith.
She was an accomplished guitarist and had a beautiful singing voice. The family always enjoyed the times she would play and they would all sing together. She loved animals and referred to her pets as her “fur babies”. She was a three time cancer survivor and battled her cancer with grace and faith. She always found a way to celebrate life, had a smile on her face, and was an inspiration to all. Her nephew, Matt Hunt, said it best when he stated, “she was born and died with fireworks in the sky.”
Teresa was a loving wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
