Teresa Welch (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Teresa Elaine (Simmons) Welch, 63 of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Teresa was born in Polk County, Missouri to Charles and Donna Simmons of Dunnegan. She was a graduate of Fair Play High School and Graph Vocational Nursing School. During her 27 years of nursing, she devoted herself to providing the most compassionate care possible to her patients in long term and in home care. Even in retirement she loved being able to spend her days caring for her beloved Crystal Taylor.
Teresa was saved at an early age and a member at Forest Home Church. She loved cooking and baking for her family, especially her famous fried chicken. She also enjoyed helping animals, bird watching and spending time planning and planting in her beautiful flower garden. Teresa will always be remembered for how fiercely she loved the people closest to her and how proud she was of her daughter and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother Donna Simmons, grandparents Tom and Myrtle Harris, grandparents William (Bill) and Clara Simmons and her beloved niece Angela Baker.
She is survived by her father Charles Simmons and wife JoAn. A daughter Sarah Matlock, two grandchildren Cheyanne Matlock and Jacob Matlock, four siblings Matt Simmons and wife Daniele, Mark Simmons and wife Shelly, Penny Copenhaver and husband Randy, John Simmons and wife Cindy. She was Aunt T to many nephews, nieces and greats.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
A visitation for Teresa will be held one hour prior to service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Lindley Prairie Cemetery in Bear Creek.
Services are under the care and direction of Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
