Thao Huong Nguyen-Gould (Lebanon)'s Obituary
A devoted wife, mother and daughter, Thao Huong Nguyen-Gould passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born April 3, 1986 in Vietnam to Frank Nguyen and Mary Dong. Thao was thirty-eight years, eleven months and thirteen days of age.
Thao came to the United States when she was five years old. She lived with her family in Utah, California and Washington and graduated from Mayfair High School. While in high school, Thao competed in statewide math competitions.
She went to work for a video store at the age of fourteen and when she was sixteen years old, she was named store manager. Thao had a mind for retail business and later in her career served as regional manager for Buckle Clothing Stores.
Thao met Andrew Gould in 2009 and on May 31, 2018, the two would marry. They were thrilled to welcome their daughter, Gia, and in 2022 made the move to Lebanon, Missouri.
Thao is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Gould of Lebanon; her precious daughter, Gia Gould of the home; her parents, Frank and Mary; her siblings, Trang Nguyen, Brian Nguyen and Alex Nguyen and his wife Rawan.
Thao was a very kind person and loved helping people. She was very gifted with her hands and created beautiful embroidery pieces, liked to crochet, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed trying new foods. She also cherished time spent traveling, playing games, and playing video games with her family. She stayed busy and did not want to sit around if she did not have to.
She was a very independent woman and knew how to make people listen, especially her siblings. She enjoyed getting to know people and serving in her community whenever possible.
Her warmth and kindness leave an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and the many people she touched throughout her life.
