Thelma Jean Ferriel's Obituary
Thelma Jean Ferriel, daughter of Samuel and Viola (Dudley) Dugger, was born September 24, 1916 in Webster County, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, September 25, 2007, in Hartville Care Center, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of ninety one years, and one day. On October 18, 1950 she was united in marriage to Leman Ferriel and together they spent thirteen years before his passing on November 1, 1963. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosie Dugger; and four brothers, Leo, Charlie, Ray and Jim Dugger. Thelma is survived by a step-son, Darrell Wayne Ferriel, of Hartville, Missouri; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born in Webster County and at an early age moved to the Hartville area, where she attended the Evening Shade School. She worked at Bob Hake’s Café for many years and after Leman’s passing she went back to work for many different café’s around the area. Thelma had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended the Hilltop Pentecostal Church as long as her health would permit, her fellowship was very important to her. In her spare time she enjoyed going to garage sales, going out to eat and visiting with friends on the phone, she also loved cats. Thelma will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville. Burial will be in the Steele Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
