Thelma Kuhnert (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Thelma Fairll Roberts Myers Kuhnert, daughter of Guy Raymond and Wilma Susan Jones Roberts, was born January 23, 1921, near Falcon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, January 19, 2011, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, eleven months, and twenty-six days.
In 1940, she was united in marriage to Claude Oren Myers, and to this union four sons and one daughter were born. Thelma and Claude were married for nineteen years.
On April 21, 1966, in Springfield, Missouri, she married Herman H. Kuhnert, and they shared twenty-seven years before his passing on August 18, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Myers; and a brother, Earl Roberts.
Thelma is survived by a daughter, Susan Westbrook, and her husband, Donnie, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Bobby Myers, and his wife, Patty, of Urbandale, Iowa, Donnie Myers, and his wife, Wanda, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Gary Myers, and his wife, Jeannie, of Branson, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Raymond Dean Roberts, and his wife, Linda, of Raymore, Missouri; a sister, Wanda Eidson, and her husband, Gene, of Harrison, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Falcon, Missouri area, and attended Bacon School. She then graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1939. She worked at Ashenhurst Clothing Store and Schofield’s Department Store for several years. After she and Claude were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. Thelma was a devoted homemaker to her family throughout the years. After she and Herman were married, they made their home in Springfield, Missouri, where Thelma worked at the Missouri Mill Store and the Holiday Inn Restaurant. In 1977, Thelma and Herman moved back to Lebanon, and after Thelma’s father passed away, they took on the care of her mother until her passing in 1996.
Thelma had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon.
She loved music and especially enjoyed listening as her family sang and played gospel music. She liked to travel, and even after Herman’s passing, she took a cruise to the Caribbean, and flew to Las Vegas. She found great joy in spending time with her family and particularly enjoyed backyard barbeques and holidays. She lived well, laughed often, and loved much.
