Thelma L. Horton's Obituary
Thelma Louise Horton was born April 14, 1927, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Robert and Mae Nichols Hires. She departed this life on August 17, 2006, at the age of 79 years, four months and three days. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Hires; and a sister, Pauline Jackson. Mourning her passing are her husband, Calvin Horton, along with their three daughters, Amy Harvey and her husband, Asa, of Lebanon, Missouri, Sherry Young and her husband, Mark, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Kariann White of the State of Oklahoma. Thelma made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted homemaker who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed taking care of her home, gardening, and loved jewelry. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, sister, and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2006, in Veterans Park at Mount Rose Memorial Park, Lebanon. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 - 5:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
