Thelma "Jeanie" Rodgers (Bolivar)'s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thelma Rodgers, who left us on May 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 8, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Gillman Frank and Hazel Lucille Nichols. Thelma found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending her days sewing, mowing the lawn, and hitting the bowling alley with friends. She had a special fondness for Chinese food and tacos—always up for a meal shared with loved ones. One of her greatest joys was being around the kids in the cafeteria at the primary school. Her warm smile and encouraging words made a lasting impact on countless young hearts. Thelma is survived by her husband, Carl Rodgers; daughter Bonnie Fischer and her husband Mark, son Stephen Simmons; grandchildren, Geoffrey Fischer and his wife Erin, Arthur Fischer and Devin Fischer; and one great grandson Matthew Fischer along with many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on 1:00 PM Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO
