Thelma Shreve (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Thelma Jean Shreve, 90, passed away at Parkview Medical Center on April 18, 2019, after a long illness.
Thelma was born in Smithville, MO on November 21, 1928, to Robert and Sarah Blankenship. She grew up on a farm with nine siblings. Her father passed away when Thelma was 14 and her family then moved into town. Thelma graduated from Smithville High School and after graduation, she worked at secretarial positions.
Thelma married Jack Shreve in February of 1963 and they moved to Kansas City, MO in 1965. They were members of Ruskin Heights Baptist Church for many years until moving to Bolivar, MO in 2003 where they were members of Mount Olive Baptist.
Thelma enjoyed cooking, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 56 years, her parents, her son Carl, and her son-in-law Richard Couch, two brothers, and five sisters. She is survived by her daughters Donna Couch of Blue Springs, Jackie Sharman (Steve), her grandchildren Brad Couch (Amanda), Stephanie Pryor (Todd), Cindy Carhart (Ryan), Cody Sharman, and Megan Sharman, and five great-grandchildren.
Services Will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, MO.
