Theodore Brandt's Obituary
Theodore Fount Brandt, son of Fred Charles and Pauline Warrington Brandt, was born September 6, 1919, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, September 23, 2008, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, and seventeen days. On August 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Marie Vance, and together they shared fifty-seven years before her passing on October 25, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Loren Brandt; and several aunts and uncles. Fount is survived by his sister, Freda Knox, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1937. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from December 23, 1942 until December 11, 1945. During World War II, he was involved in the China, India and Burma Campaigns, and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged into the Army Reserves. After he and Marie were married, they made their home in Lebanon, except for ten years when they lived in Irving, Texas. For several years, Fount worked as a truck driver, and then drove a school bus for the Lebanon R-III Schools for eighteen years. Fount had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lebanon. He recently had been attending Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon. He belonged to the American Legion and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a volunteer with the Lebanon Rural Fire District. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting, especially deer and bird hunting. He was a country boy at heart and loved horses, even owning some throughout the years. He also liked dogs and cows. He and Marie had a very special relationship and enjoyed spending time together. Fount was a loving family man, a patriotic citizen, and a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday September 27, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. No formal visitation but friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience and are under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
