Theresa Adams (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Theresa Leigh Adams was born November 6, 1968, in Springfield, MO At St. John’s Hospital (Mercy). She departed this life December 24, 2025, at Cox South in Springfield, MO surrounded by her husband and beloved daughters. She was the daughter of Charla and Don Scott and Curtis and Joann Adams. She was the mother of Devin James Inglis, Alley Charlize Baker, and Samantha Jordan Riley Baker. She was the wife of Scott Baker. She was the sister of Lisa Scott Martin, Alma Adams Lindsay, Donnie Scott, and John Curtis Adams. Theresa grew up in and around Bolivar and Urbana. She attended church at the Tunas Christian Church, Urbana First Baptist Church, and Assembly of God Churches in Bolivar, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. She was saved as a teenager. She attended schools in Buffalo, Skyline, and Bolivar, graduating from Bolivar in 1987. She went to college in Springfield where she obtained her Associates Degree. She worked as a paralegal, secretary and receptionist at SMSU (MSU), and more recently as a home health care worker. Theresa had a strong work ethic, a big heart, and an undeniable love for her family, most especially her children. She had a wonderful memory and enjoyed making others laugh. She shared so much of herself and her life with her family and friends. She was a beautiful young woman with an incredible soul who was loved deeply by all those who knew her. Theresa’s son Devin passed before her in July of 2024, and she devoted herself to ensuring his memory was kept and honored each day thereafter. Those preceding her in death were her mother Charla Scott, her father Curtis Adams, her beloved son Devin Inglis, his father Dennis Inglis, her father-in-law Del Howe, her brother-in-law Johnathan Baker and her brother-in-law Bryan Baker. Those left to mourn her loss are husband Scott, two beloved daughters Alley Baker (David), Sammie Baker (Josiah), parents Joann Adams and Don Scott, and siblings Lisa Scott Martin, Alma Adams Lindsay, Donnie and Rebecca Scott, and John and Shannon Adams. Theresa is also survived by grandson Dracen Inglis, nieces and nephews Derek, Sierra, Gracie, Billie, and Podgy(Lisa), Payten(Alma), Collin and Charla(Donnie), Sydnee, Kennedy, and Madison(John), her mother-in-law Sandy Howe, brother-in-law Kevin Johnson (Kate), sisters-in-law Heather Patton (Billy) and Kathy Shepherd (Jack), aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless life-long friends. Theresa was a force to be reckoned with, loved her family fiercely and lived with spirit unmatched. She will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
