Theresa Moad's Obituary
Theresa Ann Moad, daughter of James Stanley Barnett, Jr. and Lois E. Atkinson Barnett, was born November 10, 1958, in Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty-nine years, two months, and twenty-five days. On July 19, 1980, she was united in marriage to Ricky Lee Moad, and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Ricky, on March 17, 2007; her two children, Aaron Lee and Khala Amber Moad; and a brother, James Dale Barnett. Theresa is survived by her mother, Lois Walters, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Jack Barnett, and his wife, Linda, and Bruce Barnett, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Marilyn Piper, and her husband, Don, of Georgetown, Texas; several nieces and nephews; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; her fiancé, Richard Story, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Kansas City, Kansas area, and then moved with her family to the Falcon, Missouri area, where she graduated from Plato High School. Because of her illness, she was never able to work outside the home, but was a devoted homemaker throughout the years. It was almost a “miracle” how she managed her life as well as she did, and bore her illness with great strength and courage. Theresa was raised in the Catholic faith and was very strong in her belief and trust in God. She enjoyed all types of music, especially singing, liked performing with bands in bars and also doing Karaoke. She was fond of animals of all kinds, loved children and caring for them, and enjoyed writing poetry. She was known as the “Rose Lady” and never had an ill feeling toward anyone. Theresa was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and fiancée, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, in St. Frances DeSales Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
