Thomas Alan Auer (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Thomas Alan Auer, son of the late Charles and Ruth (Niepert) Auer, was born on April 7, 1949 and departed this life on October 27, 2022. At the time of his passing, he was seventy-three years, six months and twenty days of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert Auer and Donald Auer.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Auer; three sons, Kevin Auer, Scott and spouse Stephanie Auer and Justin and spouse Abby Auer; two grandchildren, Anna Auer and Madison Auer; one brother-in-law, Bradley Bobcik and wife Penny; three nieces, Donna, Terry and Stephanie; and one nephew, Robert. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members who will truly miss him.
Thomas was born in East St. Louis, Illinois and later moved to Belleville, Illinois where he would later graduate from high school. Following his high school graduation, Thomas enrolled in Belleville Area College, where he would attend for two years. After his time in college and to avoid the draft for the Vietnam War, Thomas enlisted in the United States Army. In the Army, he would become of member of a special ops group known as the “Vietnam Combat Trackers.”
Once he finished his time of service, he would return home to Belleville where he would later be united in marriage to Yvonne Bobcik on April 29, 1972. Together, they would have three sons and share fifty beautiful years of marriage.
Thomas made a profession of faith and was a member of Climax Presbyterian Church where he would serve as Elder.
In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, bowling and sharing a few drinks with family and friends. He was President of the Climax Springs Civic Center, Commander of the local V.F.W post and once a year, Thomas and Yvonne would attend the Vietnam Combat Trackers Reunion.
He was a loving and a caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 12:30 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorial donations may be made to Climax Springs V.F.W., Climax Presbyterian Church or Climax Springs Civic Center and left at or mailed to the funeral home, 15 Clint Ave, Camdenton, MO 65020.
