Thomas "Tom" Cameron (Seymour)'s Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Cameron, beloved husband of Loretta Sue Cameron, departed this life surrounded by his devoted family on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, ten months and one day.
One of two sons, he was born Thomas Evan Cameron on September 2, 1943, on the Cameron homestead in Seymour, Missouri, to Jesse Aaron and Ada L. (Thomas) Cameron. Tom, as he was known to family and friends, was raised and continued to spend his years on the family farm. He was a graduate of the Seymour High School Class of 1961. On April 15, 1967, he wed Wanda Kay Johnson, who preceded him in death February 8, 2001.
Tom lived all his life in the Seymour area working full-time as a cattle farmer and outside the home for Massey Ferguson as a specialist and tractor equipment mechanic. His knowledge and expertise of MF implements sent him around the country to fix mechanical problems that only he could. In December of 2006, after 45 years of faithful employment, Tom retired from Massey Ferguson, but continued to farm and tinker with any project that came along.
Tom was a Christian man and a life-long member of Lead Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Mansfield, Missouri. He constructed the church sign that stands out front today. Tom married Loretta Sue Fleetwood on July 27, 2007, and they shared eight wonderful years together.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Wanda Kay Cameron, Tom was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Luevinia Cameron. Tom leaves behind his wife, Sue Cameron of the home; daughters, Lisa Davis and husband, King, and Gayla Carnall and husband, John Mark, all of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Lance Bahnmiller and wife, Jodie; Jason Bahnmiller and wife, Sarah; Joshua Wilkerson and wife, Sasha; Brittany Landrum; and Tyler Carnall; eleven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Adam, Ethan, Alexis, Phoenix, Carson, Paisley, Blake, Cloe, Catie, and Caden; brother, John F. Cameron of the state of Idaho; and many more extended family and dear friends.
Tom Cameron will be fondly remembered as a well-respected, well-liked man who worked hard all his life. He was a dedicated family man and great provider for his family. He was a loving husband and father, a fun and hands-on grandfather and great-grandfather, and a caring and loyal brother, friend and neighbor. He had a warm smile and great sense of humor and enjoyed cutting up with family and friends. Thomas Cameron left us too soon, but the lifetime of memories and moments he created and shared with family and friends will be cherished in hearts forever. He will be so deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
