Thomas Edgmond's Obituary
Thomas Ray Edgmond, age 88, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Friday morning, December 31, 2010 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.
He was born on December 4, 1922 in Springfield, Missouri to Thomas P. Edgmond and Lulu Ethel (Marr) Edgmond.
Thomas served in the United States Army during World War II from March 4, 1943 to November 15, 1945.
On June 25, 1955 he married Nadine Estelle Baird in Kansas City, Missouri.
Thomas worked for the Terminal Railway at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri in the mail department and later on the track gang that maintained the railroad tracks from 1949 until his retirement in 1983. He was a former member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine, on July 15, 2008.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Thomas A. Edgmond of Prairie Village, Kansas and Robert R. Edgmond of Grain Valley, Missouri, a granddaughter, Heather E. Lewellen of Springfield, Missouri, and a sister, Grace Gilbert of Springfield, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Eastlawn Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Military Honors will be provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00pm, Tuesday evening at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
