Thomas Eugene Woods' Obituary
Thomas Eugene Woods, son of James Roy and Georgia Cardwall Woods, was born October 3, 1949, in Tazwell, West Virginia. He departed this life Friday, January 4, 2008, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years, three months, and one day. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Marvin Woods. Thomas is survived by three sons, David Woods, and his wife, Lee Ann, of Plato, Missouri, James Woods, and his wife, Rachael, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Robbie Woods, of the State of Virginia; six grandchildren, Drake, Layton, Daegan, Courtney, Sadie, and Alexis; three brothers, Ronny Woods, of the State of North Carolina, and Donny and Billy Woods, both of the State of West Virginia; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in West Virginia, where he graduated from high school. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Army for over twenty years. While being in the Army, he was stationed in Germany, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and eventually at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon retiring from the military, he moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made his home. In his spare time he loved being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh and have a good time. His family was very important to him and he greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. Thomas was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We will especially remember him for his love of family, his patriotism to his country, and his zest for life. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until noon in the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
