Thomas Floyd Black, son of Tommy Ray and Barbara Ann Robbins Black, was born March 16, 1958, in Wynn, Arkansas. He departed this life Friday, July 6, 2012, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, three months, and twenty days.
On September 4, 1992, he was united in marriage to Stephanie Aline Jackson, and they shared the last nineteen years.
His parents preceded him in death.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Stephanie, of the home; a brother, Jeff Black, and his wife, Patti, of Crocker, Missouri; a niece, Ashley Meagan Morris; two nephews, Jonathan Kelsey Black, and Anthony Travis Black; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Arkansas, and was raised in Rolla, Missouri. He then moved with his family to Waynesville, Missouri, where Tom graduated from Waynesville High School. He earned his Associates Degree from Central Texas University, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Drury University. He had served as the Chief of the Data Analysis Branch at Fort Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital for several years. Once he and Stephanie were married, they made their home in the Buckhorn area before moving to Lebanon.
Thomas had attended Cross Creek Church in Lebanon.
He was a history buff and loved model railroads. He greatly enjoyed Disney World and the many trips he made there. He was an avid reader, collected war games, and he play tested and edited several games. He was very intelligent and possessed a delightful sense of humor.
Thomas was a loving husband, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments, and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Stephanie would like to thank all those who have been so wonderful through the years of Tom’s illness. Very special thanks go to Rose and Scott for their love and devotion to Tom.
