Thomas G. Jones (Seymour)'s Obituary
Thomas ‘Tom’ G. Jones, much loved husband, father and grandfather, unexpectedly departed this earthly life surrounded by family on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Tom was sixty-eight years and twenty-two days of age at the time of his passing.
One of three children, he was born Thomas Gilbert Jones on March 2, 1948, in Eldon, Missouri, to Clarence Jones and Betty Jean Foust Jones. He married Janice Arlene Myers on June 15, 1969, and to this union one son was born. Tom dutifully served his country in the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He and Jan owned and operated several businesses together over the years, including an upholstery shop in Diggins, Missouri; Jones Market and a trailer park in Norwood, Missouri; and then Jan’s Fabric and Quilt Shop in Seymour, Missouri, which is still open today. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. Tom leaves behind his wife of nearly forty-seven years, Janice Jones, of the home in rural Seymour; his son, Lyman Jones and wife, Karrie; one granddaughter, Jacquelyn Jones, and one grandson, Kelby Jones; two great-grandsons, Keiston and Karter Miller; and two sisters, Linda Jones and Bev Woods. Tom was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, and a loyal brother and friend. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
The Family will hold private burial services for Tom.
