Thomas Harold Judy, Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Thomas Harold Judy, Sr., son of Ralph and Grace Hopkins Judy, was born July 28, 1943, in Danville, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday, March 17, 2022, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, seven months, and seventeen days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Judy; and three sisters, Janice Roulin, Doris House, and Jeannie Orvis.
Tom is survived by a daughter, Anna Barnes, and her husband, Timmy, of Greenville, NC; two sons, William Judy, of Lebanon, MO, and Thomas Judy, Jr., and his wife, Rose, of Lebanon, MO; six grandchildren, Alicia, Danielle, Jessica, Ethan, Mary, and Savannah; eight great-grandchildren, Madyson, Koltyn, Kale, Oakley, Dallyn, Desirae, Dominique, Deonna; a brother, David Judy; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Illinois, and then moved with his family to their family farm near Lebanon, where he graduated from Conway High School. He then attended college for a time before joining the United States Air Force. He married Ruth Ann Lappin and together they had three children. He worked at Detroit Tool Company for a time and then moved to Illinois where he worked in the maintenance department for the Sears and Roebuck Company for several years. Later in life, Thomas formed a deep and lasting relationship with Micheline Moore.
Thomas had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. He loved the Lord and had a deep abiding faith.
He enjoyed flying hand built airplanes and treasured his pilot’s license. Thomas faithfully attended Oshkosh every year. He was working on a Piper Cub but wasn’t able to complete it. His family was very dear to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren.
Thomas was a loving son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Cemetery in Long Lane, MO.
