Timothy James McKeever (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Timothy James McKeever of Lebanon, Missouri passed away in his home Tuesday evening, February 21, 2023. At the time of his passing, he was seventy-five years, six months and ten days.
Tim was born August 11, 1947 to Frank “Kit” McKeever and Geneva Pritts McKeever in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He spent his early years in Pittsburgh where he would graduate from Bishop Canevin High School. He then attended and graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Tim then joined the United States Army where he would faithfully serve and have a distinguished career for twenty years. During this time, Tim was stationed in Germany and several locations in the United States. He loved his country so very much and was honored to serve.
Following his retirement from the Army, he taught English and ROTC in Whitefield, New Hampshire. He then moved to Chicagoland where he taught college classes for thirteen years. While in the Chicago area, he married Donna Lynn Pyles on April 7, 2001.
After his career in teaching, he and his wife moved to Missouri to be near Bennett Spring State Park where he could enjoy trout fishing. In addition to fishing and enjoying the Ozarks of Missouri, he and his wife, Donna, traveled extensively.
After moving to Lebanon, he began attending Southern Heights Christian Church and on October 23, 2014, Tim was baptized.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Marjorie Costea and Sandy Irwin; a brother, John Kreger; two brothers-in-law, Bill Irwin and Nick Costea.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of the home; his son, Mike McKeever and his wife, Amy of Easton, New Hampshire; his daughter, Megan McKeever of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a step-daughter, Sarah McMillin of Chicago, Illinois; his step-son, Matt McMillin and his wife, Julie, of Des Plaines, Illinois; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Victoria; step-grandchildren, Wyatt and Isabel; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Tim was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed reading and traveling and was a wonderful writer. His greatest joy was his family. He loved his family above all. They were his pride and joy and he looked forward to talking to them and spending time with them. He also loved spending time with his many pets.
Tim was a wonderful storyteller and had made friends all around the world. He loved exploring new territory and sharing with others. His love and friendship will be very missed.
A memorial service for Tim McKeever will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Southern Heights Christian Church in Lebanon, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial to the Landmark Scholarship Fund and donations may be made through the funeral home.
