Titania 'Tanya' Amyx (Seymour)'s Obituary
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Titania Amyx, ‘Tanya’ as she was known to most, departed this earthly life surrounded by her loved ones in the early morning hours of Friday, September 4, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Nixa, Missouri, after a second and sudden battle with cancer. Tanya was seventy years, one month and seven days young at the time of her passing.
The youngest of three girls, she was born Titania L. Metz on July 27, 1945, in Harlingen, Texas, to LeVerne L. and Katherine E. (Masscey) Metz. She married Sigel Cleon Amyx in May of 1976, and together they shared over forty blessed years. Traveling the U.S. and abroad and taking cruises were some of their favorite things. Spending time at The Lake with family and friends was always a priority too. Tanya was an avid scrap-booker and enjoyed quilting as well as a variety of other crafts in her spare time. She attended Church of Christ South Side in Ozark. Tanya was a highly skilled nurse practitioner by trade and earned her certification at the University of North Dakota. She was an intellect and member of MENSA. A life-long thirst for knowledge made Tanya a devoted reader who loved to read anything.
Tanya was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Metz; stepsons, Tony Amyx and Tim Amyx; and her oldest sister, Barbara Flueckiger.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Cleon Amyx, of Nixa; her son, Stephen Laughlin of Ava, Missouri; her daughter, Katherine Morrison and husband, Patrick, of Nixa; stepson, Tracey Amyx and wife, Katrina, of Tecumseh, Missouri; five grandchildren, Emily Laughlin, Conrad Laughlin, Megan McLaughlin and husband, Andy, Kelsey Morrison, and Gabe Morrison; six step grandchildren, Sunni, Eli, Morgan, Doug, Jennifer and Sandy; her father, LeVerne Metz of Springfield, Missouri; and sister, Nancy Brown of Springfield; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Tanya's memory.
