Tom Leslie Brackett (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Tom Leslie Brackett, son of Charles Joseph “Joe” and Helen Louise McFarland Brackett, was born February 12, 1971, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, September 24, 2015, in his home in Belton, Missouri, at the age of forty-four years, seven months, and twelve days.
On February 16, 2002, he was united in marriage to Mary Margaret McKeehan, and they shared the last twelve years.
He was preceded in death by his father; and step-father, Marvin Winkler.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; two sons, Paul Wice, and Peter Wice, both of Belton, Missouri; a daughter, Danielle Fajen, and her husband, Aaron, of Kansas City, Missouri; his mother, Helen Winkler, of Lebanon, Missouri; his step-mother, Billie Kaffenberger, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Scott Brackett, and his fiancé, Kimberly Brown, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Susanne Neal, and her husband, Tim, of Lebanon, Missouri; his niece and nephews, Jessica Vekaryasz, and her husband, Eric, Erick Neal, and Caleb Brackett, and his wife, Netty; a great-niece, Aubrey Jade Brackett; several aunts and uncles, including David and Toni McFarland, Glenda and Ron Grace, and Lois Meeth; a great-aunt, Dorothy Southard; as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1989. He then graduated from the Electronics Institute in Belton, Missouri, and continued to make his home in the Belton community. Tom had worked as a linesman for AT & T for the last fifteen years.
Tom professed his faith in Christ at the age of seven at the Stoutland Baptist Church. He later re-dedicated his life at the Calvary Baptist Church in Lebanon.
He loved video games and had a large collection of games for his Play Station and Nintendo Systems. Among his gaming friends he was known as “Fonz”. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and greatly enjoyed attending truck pulls and monster truck events. He realized that he was “spoiled” and was very proud of it. He loved his family dearly and made them the center of his attention. He had a love for cats and especially his favorite pet, “Rastus”.
Tom was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them through the years.
