Tom Hartley (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Tom Gerald Hartley, known as Gerald to his family and friends, passed way October 22, 2018 at his home, at the age of 82.
He was born March 9, 1936 at Masters, Missouri, to Tom and Bonnie (Broyles) Hartley. He attended School at Masters and Stockton. He was a Christian and was saved and baptized, but never joined a church.
He was united in marriage November 16, 1985 to Donna Wilson, at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They had 33 wonderful years together.
He was a well-known dairy farmer and milked Holstein cows for 33 years. After he sold them he raised Black Angus Beef cows. He was still very much involved in the daily running of the farm until his illness. He will be greatly missed by his fur babies, Peaches and Lady.
In 2008 he was very determined to beat throat cancer, a bleeding ulcer, and a heart attack, all in the same year – and he did.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Don Hartley.
Survivors include his wife Donna, of the home; son, Harold Hartley, and wife Cyndi, of Fair Play; daughter, Cindy Hartley, of Bolivar; a brother, Richard Hartley, of Bolivar; a sister, Sharon Davis, of Kansas City; step-daughter, Lynette Copeland, and husband Larry, of Bolivar; step-son, Dennis Wilson, of Bolivar; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
