Tomasita C Rider (Seymour)'s Obituary
Tommie was born October 8, 1932 in Monterrey, California to Clarence & Mary Addie Whitcomb.
Tommie met Tom Rider at the Point Lobos Dairy where he was a dairyhand. They fell in love and were married September 10, 1946.
Tommie took pride in her job as a homemaker and loved being a mother. Her children Kathy Parker, John Rider, Judy Hicks, Barbie Dewey and Doug Busby were the loves of her life. She helped raise, in some ways, most of the children in her family. The other family consists of grandchildren Josh Busby, Ryan Dewey, Ashley Kanel, Hailey Pojar, Kaila Burks, Brock Hines and Vince Hicks and great great grandson Jackson Pojar.
She became ill about 9 years ago and had to retire. She would have most enjoyed taking part in helping with great great grandchildren Madi Pojar, Ava Busby, Henry Kanel, Zephyr Thompson, Luke Pojar and Nova Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Rider in 1995, her daughters Kathy Parker and Judy Hicks, grandsons Joe Perham and Doug Busby. She was the matriarch of the family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son John Rider and daughter-in-law Linda and a daughter Barbara Dewey.
Our house was never empty of children growing up. She and Tom were always willing to take stragglers in, they then would become family. They were always fed and had a warm bed to sleep in. She made the best biscuits and gravy and would scratch you back, rub your stinky feet and could swing a fly swatter if needed!
