Tony Vaughn's Obituary
Tony Lee Vaughn, son of John Thomas and Gladys May Wolken Vaughn, was born March 7, 1953, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, August 8, 2008, in Lake of the Ozarks, near Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, five months, and one day. On March 16, 1973, he was united in marriage to Debra Ann Simmons, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tommy Vaughn; and a sister, Maxine Vaughn. Tony is survived by his wife, Debra, of the home; two daughters, LeaAnn Little, and her husband, Ken, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sheila Vaughn, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, James Vaughn, and his wife, Summer, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Anthony and Uriah Levi James Vaughn, and Allison Kelley Little; eight brothers, Gene Vaughn, and his wife, Wilma, Don Vaughn, Johnny Vaughn, Harley Vaughn, and his wife, Diane, Ronald Vaughn, Eddie Vaughn, Farmer Vaughn, and his wife, Debbie, and Ricky Vaughn, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Freda Daniels, and her husband, Jeff, Connie Dame, and her husband, Curtis, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Katherine Rittenhouse, and her husband, Bob, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Judy Hicks, and her husband, Kenny, of Arvada, Colorado; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon community. After he and Debra were married, they made their home near Lebanon and later, on the Windyville access of the Niangua River in Dallas County, Missouri for a number of years. He and Debra lovingly raised their family together. Although his disability kept him from being able to work, he did enjoy light farming on their property for many years. Tony had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended Garfield Avenue Church of God in Lebanon. He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. He also enjoyed watching wrestling on television as often as possible. He liked being on the farm, tending to the animals, and particularly loved his pet bird, Watson. His family was very important to him, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wed. August 13, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon.
