Travis Gene Nelson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Travis Gene Nelson, son of Terry and Crystal Henderson Nelson, was born September 5, 1981, in Milton, Florida. He departed this life Friday, July 10, 2020, in an automobile accident in Laclede County, Missouri, at the age of thirty-eight years, ten months, and five days.
On June 30, 2000, he was united in marriage to Susan Marie Hopkins and they shared the last twenty years.
His father preceded him in death.
Travis is survived by his wife, Susan, of the home; a daughter, Terri Nelson, of Afton, Oklahoma; two sons, Tilyer Nelson and Chandler Nelson, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Terri Nelson and her husband, Chris, of Afton, Oklahoma; his mother, Crystal Nelson, of Afton, Oklahoma; a brother, Michael Holt, of Afton, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Florida, and then moved to Missouri in 2008. After he and Susan were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. For the last four years he had been employed by Willard Quarries.
He enjoyed racing and drove a wrecker for I-44 Speedway. He liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and camping. He also enjoyed working on vehicles. He was a little stubborn and steadfast in his opinions. He was selfless, liked helping others and would give you the shirt off of his back.
Travis was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who loved him.
A memorial has been established to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
