Troy Douglas Bethel, Jr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Troy Douglas Bethel, Jr., son of Troy Lee Bethel, Sr. and Janice Faye Johnson, was born August 17, 1972, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, July 3, 2020, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty-seven years, ten months, and sixteen days.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his maternal grandfather, Everett Johnson; his paternal grandfather, Eugene Bethel; and his father-in-law, Roger West.
Troy is survived by his wife, Chrissy Annette Tabor Bethel; five sons, Spencer Bethel, and his wife, Katrina, Zachary Bethel, Anthony Vaughn, Christopher Bethel, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Tyler Alford, of Stoutland, Missouri; his father, Troy Lee Bethel, Sr., and his special friend, Annette Ivey, of Lebanon, Missouri; four granddaughters, London Bethel, Ireland Bethel, Addison Bethel and Neveah Vaughn; three brothers, Travis Lee Bethel, Ryan Lee Bethel, and Dane Michael Bethel, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Janie Lillard, and her husband, Phillip, Charity Williams, and her husband, Kerry, and Trabecca Lee Bethel, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; his maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Johnson, of Lebanon, Missouri; his paternal grandmother, Estia Arnold, of Lebanon, Missouri; his best friend, Eugene “Beaner” Lundgren of Lebanon; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Lebanon and was raised in Chillicothe, Missouri. He then attended Lebanon High School. He had worked with his father in the Mid-State Salvage yard for a number of years.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and tinkering with things. He also liked spending time with his family and friends.
Troy was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, grandson, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
