Ula Olena Boren (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Ula Olena Boren, 97, passed away on January 6, 2024, at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton.
Olena was born in Hermitage, MO on November 14, 1926, to Powers "Ole" and Lena (Blackwell) Foltz. She graduated from Wheatland High School. In 1954, she married Millard A. Boren in Independence, MO. The couple shared 39 years together before Millard's death in 1993. The couple had three children, Barbara, Gary and Wayne.
Olena was a homemaker. Olena was an active member of Spring Valley Baptist Church in Raytown for more than 50 years. She served the church faithfully in many roles until she moved to Bolivar in 2013. Upon moving to Bolivar, she joined First Baptist Church, Bolivar. In 2019, Olena moved to Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility.
Olena enjoyed visiting with her friends, drinking Dr. Pepper and playing cards. She faithfully prayed for family, friends and missionaries as evident in her prayer journals.
Olena was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Lena Foltz; her husband, Millard Boren; her siblings infant twins, Ole Clifford and Ollie Adeline; her brother and sister-in-law, Chester (Rosalie) Foltz; and a great-grandson, Riley Duncan.
She is survived by her children, Barb (Gary) Enyeart of Bolivar, Gary (Lonna) Boren of Independence and Wayne Boren of Arlington, Texas; her grandchildren, Katie (Shane) Duncan of Bolivar, Clinton (Sarita) Enyeart of Castle Rock, Colo., Kyle (fiance Alyssa) Boren of Arlington, Texas, Andrea (fiance Lucas) Boren of Arlington, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Madelynn Duncan, Isaac Duncan, Ellah Enyeart, Emma Enyeart and Emilia Boren; close, lifelong friends Mina McClure, Christine Jones, Nona Young; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a family of caregivers at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility.
A family graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 11 at Robinson Cemetery in Collins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Olena’s memory to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering care of First Baptist Church, Bolivar.
