Valice Lowery (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Valice Firl Lowery, daughter of Clarence and Ida Royster Caudle, was born February 14, 1921, near Competition, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years, three months, and five days.
On October 12, 1942, she was united in marriage to Otis Clarence Lowery, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otis, on November 21, 1979; a son, Darel Lowery; four brothers, Joe, Ulan, Dale, and Stanley; and four sisters, Neva, Georgia, Maxine, and Merle.
Valice is survived by a daughter, Brenda Richards, and her husband, Joel, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Donald Lowery, and his wife, Virginia, of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Vernon Dowden, of Springfield, Missouri, and Junior Dowden, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Carlene McDaniel, of Ozark, Missouri , Rosalie Webb, and Norma Medley, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Competition community. After she and Otis were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Valice was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family.
Valice made her profession of faith in Christ in her youth, and attended Grace Baptist Church in Lebanon. She greatly loved having her pastor read the Bible to her.
She centered her life around her faith and her family and especially loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her. In her spare time she enjoyed doing craft projects.
Valice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
