She was raised in the Sleeper and Stoutland areas and graduated from Stoutland High School. She then attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar for a couple of years. After she and James were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their son. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, growing beautiful flowers, canning, and most of all camping. She was very likable and capable of doing whatever tasks she desired, and was steadfast in her convictions. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
