Vaughn Gulley's Obituary
Vaughn Lynn Gulley, son of Vaughn Newton and Thelma Ruth Cox Gulley, was born December 15, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas. He departed this life Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Boone Hospital, Columbia, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, four months and eleven months. On July 29, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Shirlene June Pittman and to this union five children were born. Together they shared the past fifty-three years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deborah Hewitt; a son, Steven Gulley; and a sister, Darlyne Henderson. Survivors include his loving wife, Shirlene of the home; three children, Larry Gulley of Littlerock, California, Michael Gulley of Camdenton, Missouri and Lisa Bush and husband Terry of Kearney, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ashley Jusino and husband Davin of Quarts Hills, California, Travis Gulley of Littlerock, California, Laura Gulley of Overland Park, Kansas, Curtis Gulley of Urbana, Missouri, Jimmie Gulley of Camdenton, Missouri, and Lacey, Taylor and Connor Bush all of Kearney, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Gage, Joab and Cadence Jusino and Kaylie Preslar; and other relatives and many friends. Lynn was raised in Kansas City, Kansas, and graduated from Argentine High School. After his marriage to Shirlene, they continued to live in the Kansas City area. He worked for International Paper and later began a career in mechanics. They moved to the lake area in 1975 where he worked for Able Marine in Osage Beach and did small engine repair out of his home. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved wildlife. He rescued and raised many wild animals including deer, raccoons and squirrels. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Lynn was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a caring neighbor and friend. We will treasure all of the memories he created for his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in the Climax Springs Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
