Velma Allen's Obituary
Velma Pearson Allen, age 88 of Bolivar, Missouri and formerly of Richmond, Missouri passed away at 3:25 AM Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri after a lingering illness. She was born on August 6, 1920 in Hermitage, Missouri the daughter of Sylvester Pearson and Elsie (Long) Pearson. On August 1, 1964 she married Lloyd M. Allen in Lexington, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2001. She was a retired dispatcher for a Green Rock Quarry/Cement Plant in Richmond, Missouri. She loved to play SkipBo and Bingo. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Virgil Pearson, Lloyd Pearson, Floyd Pearson, and a sister; Irene Johnson. Surviving is a daughter, Lynn Diamond and husband Ben of Bolivar, Missouri; two sons, Donald Ray Bennett and wife Linda of Rupert, Idaho, Paul Dale Bennett of Amsterdam, Missouri, a step-daughter, Margie Lois Estes of Richmond, Missouri, one brother, Paul Eugene Pearson of Bolivar, Mssouri, 14 Grandchildren, 3 Step-Grandsons, and numerous great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond, Missouri with Brother Brent Sharp officiating. Burial will be underthe care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Brent Sharp, Jody Sharp, Jamie Sharp, Jonathan Sharp, Aaron Bennett and Zane Bennett.Memorial contributions may be made to the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund in Urbana, Missouri.
