Velma F. Ferguson (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Velma Florence Ferguson, daughter of Robert George and Opal Nora Carey Herzog, was born, September 22, 1924 in Plainfield, Illinois. She departed this life, Friday, May 30, 2014, in her home, Linn Creek, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, eight months and eight days.
On October 1, 1943 in Plainfield, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Robert Dienst Ferguson. Together they shared fifty-six years of marriage until his passing on October 8, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Violet Meyer and Verna Hollmier; a brother, Edward Herzog and three brothers-in-law, Glenn Meyer, Joseph Hollmier and Joseph R. Krnac.
Survivors include her sister, Vera Krnac of Plainfield, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and many friends.
Velma was raised on a farm in Wheatland Township, Illinois which is now Plainfield. She and her husband moved to Linn Creek, Missouri in 1981. They had always lived in the country.
In her spare time, she enjoyed yard work and gardening. She was a former member of the Plainfield Boat Club. She was a lover of animals. She always fed strays that wandered around and loved keeping a pet dog.
She was a loving sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
