Vena Mae Paul's Obituary
Vena Mae Paul, daughter of Orien Cyrus and Birdie Evelyn Shepard West, was born March 20, 1924 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, Friday, April 27, 2007 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, one month and seven days. On September 5, 1946 in Olathe, Kansas she was united in marriage to George E. Paul. Together they shared forty-five years, until his passing on March 23, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lucille Koenig, and a brother, Leon West. Survivors include a sister, Betty Trantham, of Springfield, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was raised in the Camdenton area and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1942. After graduation, she was married and they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. They moved back to Camdenton in 1977. She worked as a bookkeeper and was a homemaker and a devoted help-mate to her husband. Vena made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress. She also enjoyed scrap booking, cooking and doing crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Vena was a loving sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in Dale Balir Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to MS Society or Parkinson's Disease Foundation may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
