Vera Maxine Adamson (Hartville)'s Obituary
Vera Maxine (Coltrane) Adamson, 80, passed from this life on Friday morning, November 20, 2015 in Lebanon, Missouri. Maxine was born on May 1, 1935 in Hartville, Missouri to Leeman Chester and Vera Dean (Newton) Coltrane.
Maxine was married to Lowell Adamson and to the marriage two sons, Faron and Rory were born. Maxine is survived by a loving family including her son and daughter-in-law, Faron and Cindy Adamson, her three granddaughters and their spouses, Tonya and Jim Wilson, Jennifer and Jackie O’Quinn, and Whitney and Spencer Ferguson; and her great-grandchildren, Richie, Linley and Eric Wilson; John Crisp, Justin and Jamen O’Quinn; Kaylee and Jayla Ferguson. The grandkids were all “Grandma” Maxine’s favorites and she was always proud of their achievements.
Maxine was raised on the Coltrane family farm by her father and grandparents, Lewis and Ollie Coltrane. She was a farm girl who enjoyed being outdoors and always remained attached to the farm throughout her life. Maxine attended Rogers School and Hartville High School.
After marrying, Maxine moved to Granby, Colorado where she was employed at the C Lazy U Guest Ranch. While there, she enjoyed assisting with the guests and riding horses on the trail. She then returned to the family farm to help with the care of her grandmother Ollie. Maxine helped run the farm for the next forty years. She enjoyed hearing about new baby calves and all things happening at the home-place, even after having to leave the farm. Maxine loved making afghans and crocheting, which she learned from her grandmother. She passed her knowledge and love of these crafts to her granddaughters. Maxine was a great cook who loved to spoil her family with amazing, home cooked meals. Later in life, she found great joy visiting others.
Maxine’s family values will live on through the years and we will miss her loving touch and warm smile. She is also survived by her brother, Randy Coltrane and his wife, Janice, niece and nephews, Jacob, Zachary and Ally, as well as nephews, Brandon and Chad Acton and Shaun and Dustin Coltrane.
Maxine was preceded in death by her son Rory Leon Adamson, her brother Donnie Coltrane, her parents Leeman and Vera Dean Coltrane, her step-mother Crissie Coltrane, her paternal grandparents Lewis and Ollie Coltrane, and her maternal grandparents Granville and Zella Todd Newton.
Maxine was a member of the Shaddy Chapel Church of Christ.
“I believe in the sun when it is not shinning.
I believe in love when I do not feel it.
I believe in God when he is silent.”
