Vera Moore's Obituary
Vera Jane Moore, daughter of Harve Lee and Iva Ethel (Kendall) Moore, was born May 28, 1917, near Hartville, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Hartville Care Center, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of ninety two years, one month, and six days. On December 14, 1932 she was united in marriage to Elmer Moore and to this union four daughters and three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; three sons, Donald, Dwaine, and Darrell Moore; three daughters, Dorothy Moore, Barbara Tooley, and Dianna Alsup; two grandchildren, Jackie Street and Ricky Ray Keene; her parents; five brothers, Hugh, Ralph, Lee, Dale, and Leslie Moore; two sisters, Goldie Cartwright and Vea Smith. Vera is survived by her daughter, Judy Street, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Agee, of Hartville, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Besides being a loving and devoted wife and mother she also worked seventeen years as a nurses aid. She centered her life on her family she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Two of her granddaughters she took into her home, caring for them and raising them as if they were her own children. Vera loved attending church and old Brush Harbor Meetings, where she would sing specials. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and playing Bingo. Vera was kind and caring person with a big heart. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday July 8, 2009 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening 7-8:00pm in the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Hartville, Missouri. Return to top
