Verble L. Ward (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Verble Loraine Ward, son of Bland and Maxine Ward, was born August 5, 1935, near Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, November 28, 2022, in his home near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty- seven years, three months, and twenty-three days.
He was united in marriage to Irene Maxine Curton and to this union three daughters and four sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jimmy Ward; a brother, Lester Ward; three sisters, Geneva Knapp, Norma Rogers, and Dottie Barker; and two grandchildren.
Verble is survived by his loving wife, Irene, of the home, near Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Wilma Ward, Betty Lamar, and her husband, Donnie, and Patricia Neff, and her husband, John, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Larry Ward, and his wife, Amanda, of Camdenton, Missouri, Mike Ward, Billy Ward, and his significant other, Shelby Farris, all of Lebanon, Missouri; 15 grandchildren,
and 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Ward, and his wife, Carolyn, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; two sisters, Virginia Devore, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Mary May Rogers, of Buffalo, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Wright and Laclede Counties and then made his home near Lebanon, where he and Irene lovingly raised their family. Verble was a longtime employee of Independent Stave Company, now Missouri Cooperage,
He enjoyed cutting wood and mowing the yard. He was honest and hardworking. He especially liked being outdoors. He was liked by everyone who knew him and enjoyed visiting with his friends. His family was very important to him and he liked having time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Verble was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made with them during his lifetime.
