Verlene R. Roth (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Verlene R. Roth, daughter of Bert and Velma Bradshaw Pruitt, was born January 5, 1939 in Plad, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in her home in Lebanon, Missouri. She was eighty-six years, and seventeen days of age.
Verlene was raised in the Eldridge, Missouri community. She moved with her family to Lebanon and was a graduate of Lebanon High School in the class of 1957.
On August 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to John Roth and to this union one son, Jeff, was born. They shared over sixty-four years of wonderful memories together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Betty, Lorene and an infant twin sister; and two brothers, Don and Dan.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Roth of the home; her son, Jeff Roth and his wife Carolyn of Springfield, Missouri; one granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband David; three great-grandchildren, Jeylon, Royal and Rayna; her church family; and other relatives and friends.
Verlene was employed as a secretary at MFA and Shelter Insurance for many years. She then was employed at Consumer’s Grocery Store in the Bakery for several years.
She was a longtime, active member at Second Baptist Church. She had a strong faith in God and looked forward to spending eternity in Heaven. Verlene was a gracious lady and was always willing to volunteer at church.
Her life rotated around her church and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and was thrilled to welcome three great-grandchildren to the family.
Verlene was also very fond of her dog, BB.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her home health caretaker, Carrie Howerton.
Throughout her life, Verlene was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love, and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured.
Funeral service for Verlene Roth will be Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11 a.m. in Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. A memorial to the American Heart Association to the American Cancer Society has been established and memorials may be left at the funeral home.
