She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Hartville and enjoyed going to church every Sunday. She was an avid reader of her Bible and could read it very well. She enjoyed a number of hobbies such as, gardening, canning, and cooking and she always had a good meal for the family to eat. No one ever met Vern without her wonderful smile on her face. She made lots of loving friends throughout her life, and never met a stranger.
