Vernon Roberts' Obituary
Vernon Lewis Roberts was born on October 23, 1967 in Rock Island, Illinois to Kenneth Lee Bennett and Shirley Charlene Roberts. On October 31, 2011 the good Lord called Vernon home at the age of forty-four years and eight days.
Butch, as he was known to family and friends, was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois. He moved to the Seymour area in 2006 to be near his family. Butch was a custodian for Mark of the Quad Cities, and Marshfield’s Webco Manor. He cared for others and was always willing to lend a hand to help.
A life full of simple pleasures that brings a smile to the hearts of those left behind; Butch treasured the important things, family and friends. BBQ’s, Country music, and playing guitar, he lived each moment to its fullest. Family- those God gave him and those he brought into that loving circle, will never forget the love he gave so freely. Although he never had children of his own, Butch loved his nieces and nephews wholeheartedly.
He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Bennett; his mother Shirley Roberts; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his sister Tammy Roberts.
Butch is survived by his two faithful dogs Lucy and Lazy; his sisters Stephanie Oxenreider and husband Michael of Seymour, Missouri, and Cindy Ayers of the State of Virginia; his nieces Nichole Bennett, Shea Ward, and Tamra Reeves; his nephews Steven Bennett ,Timothy Reeves, all of Seymour, Missouri, and Brandon Sproul of Marshfield, Missouri; his great-nieces Allie and Callie Pickett, Alivia Bennett, and Joy McDonald; his great-nephew Bryson Pickett , all of Seymour, Missouri; along with several aunts and uncles; and special friends Todd Danner and family, Danny Niner, and John Sproul.
