Vickie Ann Bogan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Vickie Ann Bogan, daughter of Berlin Dean and Dotty Jean Emmerson Lindsay, was born July 27, 1952, in Amarillo, Texas. She departed this life Saturday, October 5, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, two months, and eight days.
On June 27, 1972, she was united in marriage to Ronald O. Bogan, and to this union one daughter was born.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Vickie is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Ron, of the home; a daughter, Amy Griffin, and her husband, Troy, of Nixa, Missouri; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Carly; two sisters, Linda Gunter, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Judy Eisenhauer, and her husband, Todd, of Wentzville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. She then attended St. John’s Nursing School and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Drury University. She worked for eighteen years as a nursing supervisor at the Federal Medical Center in Springfield, and retired early after being injured by an inmate.
Vickie was raised in the Church of Christ and followed that faith throughout her life.
She loved to travel, had taken sixteen cruises, and had extensively visited most of the world. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and attending their activities and events. She also liked doing things with her daughter and her sisters. She had a love for animals and was very fond of her little dog “Sammie”.
Vickie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
Memorial donations to the Claxton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund may be left at the funeral home.
