Vickie R Davis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Vickie Rae Davis, daughter of Wilson Ray and Doris Jean Waterman Meads, was born September 24, 1953, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Mercy Villa Skilled Nursing Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, six months, and twenty-three days.
On September 15, 1973, she was united in marriage to James Albert Davis, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Randall Meads.
Vickie is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Jim, of the home; a daughter, Heather Bryant, and her husband, John, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Ryan Davis, and his wife, Courtney, of Ozark, Missouri; four grandsons, Aidan, Tucker, Sawyer, and Isaiah; her mother and step-father, Doris and Terry Jones, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Craig Meads, and his wife, Karen, of Springfield, Missouri, and Bryan Jones, and his wife, Sheila, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Sheila Starnes, and her husband, Max, and Kerry Knight, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and after serving as class treasurer, she graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1971. She then attended Missouri State University for one year. After she and Jim were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. Vickie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also worked in the banking business for almost forty years. She worked in operations at Boatmen’s Bank for twenty-five years, then Mid-Missouri Bank for ten years, and most recently for Central Bank for four years. Through these years, she made many close friendships with her customers and co-workers.
Vickie was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Lebanon, where she taught Mission Friends, and Kid’s Stuff..
“Ruby”, as she was called by her family and friends, enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing and shopping. She liked making costumes and enjoyed dressing up in her sewing creations for Halloween. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandsons. She greatly loved being a “Mimi”.
Vickie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
