Victor Cyr (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Victor Alton Cyr, son of Edwin and Anna Yadaw Cyr, was born November 5, 1934, in Brasher Falls, New York. He departed this life Friday, January 2, 2015, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, one month, and twenty-seven days.
On August 26, 1959, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Joy Shivers and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis, on April 15, 1999; four brothers, Paul, Charley, Edward, and Lawrence; and two sisters, Louise and Laura.
Victor is survived by a daughter, Cindy Kuhn, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Ed Cyr, and his wife, Dencie, and Jack Cyr, all of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Victor, Rama, Eric, Shawn, Justin, and Ashley; a number of great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the State of New York. He then joined the United States Army as a young man and served his country faithfully during the Korean War. After meeting Phyllis, they soon married and made their home in the Lebanon, Missouri area. Victor worked for the Independent Stave Company for a total of forty-three years before retiring.
In his spare time he enjoyed doing woodworking projects, gardening, and growing flowers. He had a very generous heart and was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. He possessed a good sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Victor was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be made to the Crossroads Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
